Station Wins 26 Awards for Excellence Including Best Hard News,

Best News Writing, Best Feature, Best Sports Reporting, Best Weathercast

and Best Commentary

 

Milwaukee, WI. May 5, 2014–WITI FOX 6, Tribune Company’s Milwaukee broadcast television station, is pleased to announce the station has been awarded 26 awards by the Wisconsin Broadcaster’s Association, including the highest honors of Television Station of the Year and Television News Operation of the Year.

 

The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association is the only trade association which supports, promotes and represents all radio and television broadcasters in Wisconsin. Each year the WBA honors the best in local journalism.  This year, WITI was honored with a total of 26 awards, including 14 First Place, more than any other Milwaukee television station.

 

“I am very proud of the entire staff. They know how much news matters to our viewers – they work very hard every day to serve them,” said John LaPorte, Vice President of News, WITI.  “It is great to have the results of that hard work recognized by the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association.
