Naperville Film Fest To Honor WGN Radio’s Dean Richards

Entertainment critic to receive Lifetime Achievement Award

The Naperville Independent Film Festival announced today that long-time WGN Radio host (and WGN-TV’s Emmy award-winning entertainment critic and reporter), Dean Richards, will be presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award at their sixth annual event on Saturday, September 21, 2013. The award commemorates Richards’ contribution and dedication to the entertainment industry.

Richards can be heard talking entertainment on WGN Radio Monday through Friday at 8:20am on “The Steve Cochran Morning Show” and also on his own show, Sundays from 9a.m. to 1p.m. He has accumulated over 30 local and national awards during a career that has spanned over three decades.

The Naperville Independent Film Festival (NIFF) opens on Friday, September 13 and features projects from 150 filmmakers and screenwriters from around the world.  The nine-day festival screens over 90 films for the chance to compete for the coveted NIFF trophy presented at closing ceremonies on September 21.

NIFF was the brainchild of Edmond and Glessna Coisson, who early in 2007 joined with Gary Pradel and Daniel Nigg to form the group of Founders and launched the inaugural Film festival in September 2008.
