KTLA 5 Meteorologist Vera Jimenez Receives National Hispanic Media Coalition Impact Award For Excellence In Broadcast Journalism

LOS ANGELES – September 20, 2018 – KTLA 5, Tribune Broadcasting’s Los Angeles television station, is pleased to announce the National Hispanic Media Coalition has named Meteorologist Vera Jimenez the 2018 recipient of the Impact Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism.

The 16th annual Los Angeles Impact Awards, convened by the National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC), honors outstanding local media professionals, artists and community leaders for their achievements and contributions to the region’s Latino community.

Jimenez is KTLA 5’s meteorologist for the KTLA 5 News at 6, 6:30, 10 and 11pm on weeknights.

“We at KTLA are honored that the National Hispanic Media has chosen Vera as one of the 2018 recipients of this prestigious award. To recognize Vera’s tireless efforts in the community is gratifying and we are extremely proud of her hard work,” said Don Corsini, President and General Manager.

Jimenez’s work has also garnered her two Emmy Awards, three Golden Mike Awards and three Golden Pylon Awards.
