Station Wins “Best of Show”

KFOR-TV NewsChannel 4, Tribune Broadcasting’s NBC affiliate in Oklahoma City, was recently honored by the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters (OAB) for outstanding achievement in broadcasting. The station was honored with Best Evening Newscast, Best General News, Best Feature-Series, Best Feature – Single, Best Photography and Best Weather Image Promotion. KFOR was also honored with the organization’s prestigious “Best of Show” award.

“We are proud of our talented news team that works so hard every day to bring the best news and weather coverage in Oklahoma. We also appreciate the OAB for their service to our state,” said Wes Milbourn, President and General Manager of KFOR NewsChannel 4 and KAUT Freedom 43 TV.

KFOR NewsChannel 4 originally signed on the air on June 6th, 1949 as WKY-TV. The station was a pioneer during the early years of television broadcasting and remains on the cutting edge of news and weather coverage and mobile and digital news excellence.

The awards will be presented at the annual OAB Awards Banquet on Friday, March 27, 2015, at the Skirvin Hotel in Oklahoma City.
