WREG News Channel 3 Ranks #1 in Weekday, Weekend Newscasts

Memphis – WREG-TV News Channel 3, Tribune Broadcasting’s Memphis station, ranked #1 in nearly every newscast during the July sweeps measurement period. WREG topped other stations in head-to-head news ratings races, including the 430AM, 5AM and 6AM early morning newscasts, 9AM, Noon, 4PM, 4:30PM, 5PM, and 10PM. WREG grew its audience from 2016, and produced wins in every weekend newscast and in all but one newscast during the week.

WREG’s success continues, having ranked #1 in local newsfor more than five years now. “Even though some viewers have different schedules and different priorities over the summer, our promise remains the same: put the audiencefirst,” said News Director Bruce Moore. “We’re both humbled and emboldened by viewers recognizing thatpromise in our coverage, and for continuing to choose us.”

WREG News Channel 3 wins early mornings from 4:30-7AM.

WREG Live at 9:00 wins against WHBQ’s and WATN’s local news.

WREG News Channel 3 wins midday news, beating the combined totals of all competitors’ 11AM and 12PM local news shows.

WREG News Channel 3 wins at 4, 4:30, 5:00, and 10PMtoo.

WMC’s lone weekday win comes at 6PM, held up by strong network and syndicated programs before and after.

WREG’s Friday Sports Overtime with Glenn Carver is the highest rated local sports program on any medium, winning its time period—10:15-10:30.

WREG News Channel 3 is also the top-rated news all day long, beating competitors in every weekend local news time period.
