WGNO-TV “God Bless Louisiana” Campaign Named TV Station Promotion of the Year by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters

Station Campaign receives 2013 Prestige Award

WGNO-TV, the ABC Television Network affiliate for the greater New Orleans area, was awarded the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters’ 2013 Prestige Award for the “TV Station Promotion Of The Year” for WGNO’s “God Bless Louisiana” campaign.

The award was given by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters on Thursday Feb 28th at their annual Prestige Awards luncheon in Baton Rouge. Founded in 1948, the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters is the only state-wide organization dedicated, solely, to promoting and protecting the interests of Louisiana’s Broadcast Industry.

WGNO-TV’s “God Bless Louisiana” is an ongoing campaign that showcases the resiliency, life and culture that permeates the people and area of Louisiana.  The campaign started with spots that focused on hardship and hope post Katrina. It has then progressed to highlight other facets of Louisiana life such as religion, the importance of family, schools and the uniqueness of Louisiana cuisine.

“We are very proud of our “God Bless Louisiana” campaign and are pleased that it has been recognized with this award.  Awards or not, WGNO-TV is passionate about “God Bless Louisiana” and we will continue tell the Louisiana story through heartfelt words and beautiful images,” said John Cruse, WGNO-TV VP/General Manager.

“We’re just incredibly grateful to the wonderful people of Louisiana for providing us the inspiration and backdrops to continue on this amazing storytelling journey,” said Jeff Funk, WGNO-TV Creative Director.
