17 Apr WGN News Anchor Micah Materre To Make Evening Appearances On V103
Starting this week, during “The Real Show” on V103, WGN News at Nine Anchor Micah Materre will make evening appearances on the show. Materre will accompany Joe Soto and Ramonski Luv around 6:50 p.m. each weeknight. Together, they will discuss news surrounding the Chicago area and more.
Micah Materre currently is the anchor for WGN News at Nine. In addition, she is the producer of the “Chicago’s Very Own” segment on WGN News and she is the host of WGN’s bi-weekly public affairs program “People to People.” Materre is an Emmy Award-winning journalist and has been honored by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. She has been featured in numerous national publications, including the New York Times magazine, Glamour, Ebony, Good Housekeeping, Today’s Chicago Woman, ‘Who’s Who’ in Black Chicago, and Michigan Avenue magazine.
Materre began her career in broadcasting at NPR affiliate WBEZ radio in Chicago, and then headed to Cedar Rapids, Iowa working as a general assignment reporter and weekend anchor. Before moving back home to Chicago, Materre spent eight years at WJBK-TV in Detroit where she was a main anchor and general assignment reporter. She later joined the WGN-TV news team in January 1998 as a WGN Morning News co-anchor and medical reporter.
