13 Dec Veteran Broadcaster Bill Kurtis Named the Signature Voice of WGN Radio
WGN Radio has signed Chicagoan and national broadcaster Bill Kurtis as the station’s signature voice. Starting in January, Kurtis’ voice will be integrated into the station’s audio branding and heard on WGN’s promos and IDs.
An industry veteran, Kurtis is a trusted and acclaimed documentarian and news anchor who also created programs including Cold Case Files and Investigative Reports. Kurtis also provided the narration for the Will Ferrell Anchorman feature films.
“Bill is perfect for WGN Radio,” said WGN Creative Service Manager Chris Duffy. “His body of work represents thoughtful honesty, yet he has never been afraid to do lighthearted and fun projects. That combination plus his impeccable Chicago credibility make him a natural fit as a signature voice for WGN. Bill Kurtis IS…kind of a big deal.”
Vice President of Programming and Content Todd Manley said, “[Chris] Duffy’s brilliant imaging is the sonic soul of WGN Radio and adding Bill’s voice is the icing on the cake.”
