PIX11 Partners with the Broadway Channel to Air Special on July 4th 6pm

PIX11, Tribune Broadcasting’s New York flagship station, has partnered with Broadway Channel to present “Broadway Profiles” powered by Broadway.com, a series of primetime Broadway specials hosted by PIX11’s Emmy-Award winning anchor Tamsen Fadal. The latest installment, “Broadway Profiles: A Broadway Revolution” will air on PIX11 on Saturday, July 4 at 6pm ET.

The 30-minute special, “Broadway Profiles: A Broadway Revolution” focuses on the Tony Award winning shows and actors from Broadway’s biggest season in history and looks at the new shows this summer, including some of the biggest names in comedy: Jason Alexander, Larry David, Jim Parsons and magic duo Penn & Teller.  Plus, Tamsen sits down with the actors and director of the next revolutionary production, Hamilton, the hugely successful hip hop musical about Alexander Hamilton that is transferring to Broadway.

“Broadway Profiles: A Broadway Revolution” airing on July 4th will highlight:

  • Tony night’s biggest losers but Broadway’s biggest winners and two of the biggest names in TV comedy history, Larry David and Jason Alexander talk about the summer’s blockbuster Fish in the Dark;
  • Penn & Teller, who are bringing their magic back to Broadway and showing us what they have up their sleeves;
  • Tamsen goes one-on-one with Christian Borle, about his Tony-winning Role as William Shakespeare in the hilarious musical, Something Rotten;
  • Tamsen speaks with actors Renee Elise Goldsberry, Daveed Diggs and director Tommy Kail of Hamilton- a hip-hop lesson about America’s first secretary of the treasury from the writer of In the Height’s
  • Plus, Jim Parsons returns to Broadway in Act of God.

PIX11 has set up a special section of the station’s website, pix11.com/backstageonbroadway, where the original on-air content will be housed and-live streamed. The hashtag #BACKSTAGEONBROADWAY has been created to create social engagement with fans through PIX11’s extensive social media channels.

In addition, each Thursday at 10pm, PIX11 News airs “Backstage on Broadway” a weekly segment hosted by Tamsen Fadal, covering what’s trending on Broadway.
