Geiger comes to Tribune from Sinclair Broadcast Group (formerly Barrington Broadcasting Group) where he was President and CEO of the company’s Syracuse media properties including WSTM/NBC, WTVH/CBS, WSTQ/CW, CNY Central Digital, a 24-hour news broadcast, and Geiger, who spent 16 years with Sinclair/Barrington serving in positions of increasing responsibility, created and developed the CNY Central brand as the largest stand-alone broadcast media operation in New York State, outside of New York City.

“Chris has extensive knowledge of all aspects of managing multiple television stations within a market. He has a successful track record of revenue growth and strong leadership skills and will be a great asset for Tribune’s stations in Hartford,” said King.

“I am excited to join the iconic Tribune Company and their stations in Hartford, CT.  I’m looking forward to becoming a part of the Hartford community and leading WTIC and WCCT to even greater success,” said Geiger.

Geiger has also served on the Board of Directors of Centerstate CEO, Central New York’s Economic Development Group and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central New York, most recently as President.
