“No Place To Call Home” Named Best Public Affairs Program/Series
July 1, 2016 — PIX11, Tribune Broadcasting’s New York flagship station, was recently honored by the New York State Broadcasters Association with an award for Best Public Affairs Program or Series. “No Place to Call Home,” Jay Dow and Mario Diaz’s multi-part series on the homeless crisis, is an-depth look at the societal impact of homelessness – ranging from education, controversial corporate housing methods, to the new faces of homelessness.
The honor marks the second straight year the NYSBA has honored PIX11 News with an award for excellence in this category. It also comes on the 50th Anniversary of the NYSBA awards competition.
PIX11’s “No Place to Call Home,” series also has been honored with multiple Associated Press Broadcasters Awards for Enterprising and Investigative Reporting, as well as a New York Press Club Award.
