24 Jun PIX11 Honored By New York State Broadcasters Association – “Below The Radar” Named Best Public Affairs Program/Series
PIX11, Tribune Broadcasting’s New York CW affiliate, was honored by the New York State Broadcasters Association with an award for Best Pubic Affairs Program or Series at NYSBA’s summer conference in Manhattan on June 22. The NYSBA honors the elite of New York State broadcasting.
The award was presented to Investigative Reporter Mario Diaz for “Below the Radar,” a multi-part series that exposed FAA air traffic controllers that are still on the job, despite their role in fatal crashes. Additionally, David Scanlon, Tom Miuccio, Kenton Young, Noreen Lark and Amy Waldman were honored for their contributions to the series of reports.
The series has also been honored with an Edward R. Murrow Award and an Associated Press Broadcasters Award.
