November Ratings Results: WREG News Channel 3 Ranks #1 Morning, Noon, and Night

Memphis – WREG-TV News Channel 3, Tribune Broadcasting’s Memphis station, ranked #1 in most weekday and all weekend newscasts during the November sweeps measurement period.  WREG topped other stations in head-to-head news ratings races, including the 430AM, 5AM, and 6AM early morning newscasts; Noon, 4 and 4:30PM; and 10PM weekdays.  WREG has the most-watched 5PM newscast, and wins all weekend news time-periods.

WREG’s success continues, having ranked #1 in local news for more than five years now.  “We will keep making viewers our number one priority,” said News Director Bruce Moore, “There’s really no secret to our secret.  Put viewers first, and make sure we’re getting answers to the questions they would ask if they could.”

WREG News Channel 3 easily wins mornings from 4:30AM until network news starts at 7AM, more than doubling closest competitors’ until 5:30AM.

WREG News Channel 3 more than doubles closest competitors’ numbers from 4:30-5:30AM.

WREG News Channel 3 easily wins midday news, beating the combined totals of closest competitors’ midday news.

WREG News Channel 3 wins early afternoon news at 4:00 and 4:30.

WREG’s 5PM has more viewers than all other stations’ 5PM newscasts.

WREG’s 10PM news is the top rated late newscast in the market.

WREG’s Friday Sports Overtime with Glenn Carver is the highest rated local sports program on any medium, winning its time-period—10:15-10:30—with a 7.6 household rating.

WREG News Channel 3 is also the top-rated news all day long, beating competitors in every weekend local news time-period.
