Lindy Thackston to Anchor FOX59 Morning News in Indianapolis

October 10, 2016 — Tribune Broadcasting’s FOX59 (WXIN-TV) in Indianapolis announced Lindy Thackston will move from her reporter and fill-in anchor position on FOX59 to the top-rated FOX59 Morning News where she will anchor Monday–Friday from 4a – 7a.  Thackston will join co-anchor Scott Jones on Monday, October 10th.

“For the last three years Lindy has been bringing FOX59/CBS4 viewers stories that really matter.  She is a Hoosier with deep roots in the community and knows what’s important to people here. Now viewers will get to see more of her personality as a member of our morning news team,” said Kerri Cavanaugh, VP of News.

The winner of two Edward R. Murrow awards and several Associated Press awards, Thackston joined the FOX59 news team in October 2013. Prior to coming to WXIN, Indiana native Lindy anchored and reported at stations including WLFI in Lafayette, Indiana, WSIL-TV in southern Illinois, First Coast News in Jacksonville, Florida and WTHR in Indianapolis.

She also spent time working as an IndyCar Series pit reporter, pre-race host and college football sideline reporter for the Versus Network.  Lindy has also been a fill-in host for the Daily Buzz, a 3-hour nationally broadcast entertainment morning show and as a reporter for Hollywood 411 on the TV Guide Network.

“I’m so excited for this opportunity. I’m looking forward to connecting with the FOX59 morning viewers and having a two way conversation about what happens in Indianapolis,” said Thackston.

Lindy is originally from Frankfort, Indiana and graduated from Purdue University.  She has been married to her husband Christian since January 2014 and they just welcomed their first child.

FOX59, WXIN is the Indianapolis FOX Network affiliate and the home of FOX59 News, which provides 11 hours of local news programming weekdays. FOX59 is an exclusive broadcast partner of the Indianapolis Colts.
