04 Apr Lauren Magiera Named WGN News Sports Anchor/Reporter

Magiera joins WGN News from the NFL Green Bay Packers, where she was a co-host of a weekly 30 minute pre-game show with Packers Hall of Famer Larry McCarren. In addition to the pre-game show, Magiera produced weekly feature stories, hosted home games as the field reporter, and created online content for Packers.com.
Prior to her time with the Green Bay Packers, Magiera worked for several stations in a sports capacity including as director-producer-reporter at ABC Wausau WAOW-TV in Wisconsin, and for several stations in Anchorage, Alaska including as sports reporter/fill-in anchor at NBC Alaska KTUU, sports director at ABC Alaska KIMO/FOX, and as play-by-play for University of Alaska Gymnastics Meets for the Family Network.
A college athlete, Magiera graduated from University of Alaska Anchorage with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Public Communications on a full ride gymnastics scholarship. As one of Chicago’s Very Own, Magiera grew up in the Northwest suburbs and is a graduate of Barrington High School.
