ST. LOUIS, November 23, 2017- – This November, KTVI/FOX 2, Tribune Broadcasting’s St. Louis television station, continued growth in local news by expanding FOX 2 News at 6:00 p.m. to one hour. With this development, and the cancellation of KSDK’s 12:00 p.m. news, FOX 2 News now delivers double that of local competitors. In the spirit of the holidays, in the spirit of giving, KTVI and KPLR launched a new community initiative, “The Spirit of St. Louis.” The first event will be a holiday fundraising drive for three local non-profits: Variety, The Children’s Charity, The Backstoppers, Inc, and St. Louis Area Food Bank. For every $10 donation to one (or all) of the charities, viewers will have a chance to win their choice of either a car, SUV or truck from Bommarito Automotive Group. The kickoff was announced on FOX 2 News in the Morning November 17th and will continue throughout the holiday season. The car giveaway will be announced January 26th at the St. Louis Auto Show. There will also be a one-day super drive on December 7th at a Dierbergs Market. FOX 2 and KPLR 11 staff we will be on-site, collecting donations for children with disabilities, first responders, and food pantries across the metro area. Other events for each charity will be announced throughout the 8 weeks.
