KTLA 5 Expands Digital Offerings, Adds Amazon Alexa And Produces Several Station Podcasts

LOS ANGELES – August 15, 2018 – KTLA 5, Tribune Broadcasting’s Los Angeles television station, today announced news updates from KTLA are now available on Amazon’s voice-activated Alexa service via the flash briefing feature. In addition, the station has expanded its digital offerings by producing several weekly podcasts, The News Director’s Office, Frank Buckley Interviews and Spoken Dreams.

PODCAST: THE NEWS DIRECTOR’S OFFICE

New podcast, The News Director’s Office, launched this month with a focus on the positive aspects and importance of local media, with new episodes released every Tuesday. Hosted by KTLA 5 VP/News Director Jason Ball, the podcast explores topics in the news, issues facing journalists and the newsgathering process. The News Director’s Office takes listeners behind closed doors to offer a candid glimpse at news, media and the personalities who work within the industry.

Upcoming guests include, KTLA 5 Morning News anchor Megan Henderson, Entertainment Tonight host Kevin Frazier (who began his career at a local television photographer) and syndicated radio host Ellen K.

PODCAST: FRANK BUCKLEY INTERVIEWS

Buckley, the co-anchor of the Emmy Award-winning, No. 1-rated KTLA 5 Morning News, hosts Frank Buckley Interviews. On this podcast, host Frank Buckley goes one-on-one with newsmakers, celebrities, technologists, tastemakers, athletes, artists, authors, entrepreneurs and everyday people. Unlike on live television, these interviews won’t be limited by time, so Buckley’s interviews will delve deeper. With over 100 completed interviews, Frank Buckley Interviews adds new episodes every Wednesday.  Additionally, KTLA launched a TV version of Frank Buckley Interviews, which airs on KTLA 5 on Sundays at 11:30pm. Next week will mark the 25th television episode.
