KSWB/FOX 5 San Diego Morning News and News at Ten Rank #1 in the Market

March 6, 2017 – KSWB-TV (FOX 5), Tribune Broadcasting’s San Diego station, is pleased to announce FOX 5 Morning News and FOX5 News at Ten are #1 with Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 in the February 2017 Nielsen sweeps period*.

This is the fifth consecutive month FOX 5 Morning News (7-9a) has ranked #1 with Adults 18-49 (0.8) and Adults 25-54 (1.1). FOX 5 Morning News (6a) has ranked #1 with Adults 18-49 (0.7) and Adults 25-54 (0.9) for the third consecutive February Sweeps period.

FOX 5 News at Ten (M-F) also ranks #1 with Adults 18-49 (0.8) and Adults 25-54 (1.2) for the third consecutive February Sweeps period.

FOX5 DELIVERS SPORTS

  • FOX 5’s broadcast of the Daytona 500 (February 26) delivered its highest HH delivery since 2013 and highest demo delivery under Viewer Assignment methodology. (4.8 HH, 2.8 A25-54)
  • The Super Bowl on FOX5 delivered its highest HH delivery since 2003 (when San Diego was the host city), and highest demo delivery under Viewer Assignment methodology. (49.4 HH, 39.5 A25-54)
  • FOX 5 aired the first San Diego Gulls Hockey game (February 12) since the team returned to San Diego in 2015. It delivered a 0.8 HH & a 0.5 A25-54, despite airing head-to-head with The Grammy Awards. It also outperformed an NHL game that aired earlier in the day on KNSD by 25% with A25-54, and grew the time period year-to-year with HH (+40%) and A25-54 (+150%).
