New KFOR Sports Director Is 25 Year KFOR Veteran
February 9, 2016 – Bob Barry and Bob Barry Junior set the standard for sports coverage in Oklahoma. The legendary father-son duo were beloved in our state.
Now, eight months after the tragic death of sports director, Bob Barry Junior, KFOR NewsChannel 4 is honored to announce that KFOR NewsChannel 4 has promoted weekend sports anchor, Brian Brinkley to be the new sports director at the station.
Brinkley, a 25 year veteran at KFOR said, ”I’m humbled to be carrying on their legacy. They obviously set the standard for sports broadcasting in Oklahoma.” Brinkley knows he has big shoes to fill and added, ”Bob Senior took me under his wing and taught me everything I needed to know about doing this job the right way. Then, in the years that followed, Bobby showed me how to get the job done. And I still have a lot of fun doing it.”
Natalie Hughes, News Director of KFOR NewsChannel 4 and KAUT Freedom 43 TV conducted a nationwide search trying to find the new sports director. “The best candidate for this job turned out to be right here at the station,” said Hughes.
“Brian learned so much working with Bob Barry and Bob Barry Junior. He’s a natural fit,” said Wes Milbourn, President and General Manager of KFOR NewsChannel 4 and KAUT Freedom 43 TV.
