WITI announces special local programming tackling topic of opioid abuse Sunday, April 23

April 17, 2017.   WITI FOX6, Tribune Media’s Milwaukee broadcast television station, is planning to air “FOX6 Presents: Dose of Reality” a one-hour local special dedicated to the topic of opioid abuse.  Anchored by Brad Hicks and Stephanie Grade, the show will replace the regularly scheduled FOX6 News at 9:00 on Sunday, April 23rd.  It’s the first production for the station under the new umbrella of “FOX6 Presents”.

“Unfortunately, we know all too well the impact prescription drug abuse and heroin is having on our community.  As a leader in community initiatives, FOX6 is committed to looking at issues that affect our viewers and opiate addiction is one of those topics,” said President and General Manager Chuck Steinmetz.

This isn’t the first time FOX6 has tackled the subject of opiate addiction.  WITI has produced several specials on the topic.  “I’m always proud of the work we do when addressing such complex issues as addiction.  It’s a topic that warrants continued examination and the FOX6 news department is well equipped to do just that” says Vice-President of News, John LaPorte.

Throughout the year, WITI will be producing local programming that address a wide variety of topics.  FOX6 Presents:  Dose of Reality will be anchored by Brad Hicks and Stephanie Grady and air at 9:00pm on Sunday, April 23rd.
