Best Morning News and Best Late News Weekdays in Indianapolis

WXIN delivers 7 hours of #1 daily weekday newscasts

November 29, 2016 — Tribune Broadcasting’s FOX59 (WXIN-TV) is once again Central Indiana’s news leader.  During the recently completed November sweeps period FOX59 won the top slot with Indianapolis adults 25-54 for seven hours of the broadcast day according to Nielsen. For six hours each morning, from 4AM until 10AM, more Indy viewers turned to the FOX59 Morning News than any other station in the market, including wins against NBC’s Today Show and ABC’s Good Morning America on ABC. In the evening, more viewers count on FOX59 News at Ten than any other late newscast in the market.

“In a sweep that showed year to year ratings declines for many stations’ local news, FOX59 grew in all six hours of morning news compared to last year,” commented Jamie Aitken, FOX59/CBS4 General Manager.  “Our news team works hard every day to deliver news and weather coverage that Indy viewers can trust and depend on.  Ratings like these show us that the viewers appreciate what we are doing.”

“From our team coverage of the historic seven-game World Series, to our marathon live coverage of the election on air and online, I’m proud of our team and thrilled that the work they do every day is watched by more viewers than any other local station,” said VP of News, Kerri Cavanaugh.
