FOX31 Denver Problem Solvers Toy Drive: Help Make the Holiday Season Bright for Colorado Children

November 21, 2016 – Every child deserves to experience the joy of opening a special gift on Christmas morning and we can all help make that happen. This holiday season, FOX31 Denver, KDVR-TV, in a special partnership with The Salvation Army, Gordmans and Colorado State University-Global Campus (CSU-Global), will be collecting toys to help Colorado children in need with the FOX31 Problem Solvers Toy Drive.

The FOX31 Problem Solvers are committed to helping Colorado children and families when they need it most,” said Joan Barrett, Vice President and General Manager of KDVR. “Projects like this are the perfect opportunity for everyone in our community to come together and make a difference.”

Now through December 16, new, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at participating Denver-area Gordmans locations. Collected toys will be distributed to prequalified families in need by The Salvation Army through their holiday program.

“Unfortunately, there are many families in our community facing challenging times this holiday season. Donating to the FOX31 Problem Solvers Toy Drive is one way to ensure that a little boy or girl wakes up to something special on Christmas morning,” said Lt. Col. Daniel Starrett, Divisional Commander The Salvation Army Intermountain Division.” The experience will be truly rewarding for you and the child you help.”

On December 9 from 6am to 8pm, viewers are invited to join FOX31 at the Gordmans’ Littleton store, 8055 W. Bowles Ave., to donate toys, meet their favorite anchors and reporters and enjoy holiday festivities for the whole family.

Gordmans locations participating in the FOX31 Problem Solvers Toy Drive include Aurora, Lakewood, Littleton, Thornton and Westminster.

“CSU-Global is a committed partner to our community and all of the citizens of our state,” said CSU-Global President and CEO, Dr. Becky Takeda-Tinker.” We are proud that our sponsorship of the FOX31 Problem Solvers Toy Drive helps the lives of Colorado children.”
