EXPOSED:  Season 1 – The East Area Rapist

In 2018, KTXL FOX40 launched a deep dive investigative series on a notorious cold case, a serial rapist and murderer known as the East Area Rapist, the Original Nightstalker and later, the Golden State Killer.  The podcast begins in the 1970’s in Sacramento when the heinous crimes started. EXPOSED takes listeners through the next decade as the attacks escalated and spread across the state. In 2011, DNA determined one person was responsible for it all:  twelve murders, 50 rapes and hundreds of burglaries. Two months after the podcast was launched, a suspect was identified and arrested. Through in-depth interviews with the victims, their families and the original investigators, EXPOSED offers a glimpse into the terror and the pain one man caused as the notorious criminal eluded investigators for years. The 9-episode series is available for download, with additional episodes to be added throughout the trial.

EXPOSED:  Season 2 – The Shadow Keeper

In the second season of EXPOSED, FOX40 explores the case of Dorothea Puente, a convicted serial killer who ran a boarding house in Sacramento. Launched in November, 30 years since the first body was discovered in Puente’s backyard, EXPOSED season 2 digs deeper into the case and asks if was justice truly served? Did Dorothea have help committing her crimes?
