Dana McDaniel Named News Director of WDAF/FOX4 Kansas City

June 8, 2017—WDAF/FOX 4, Tribune Broadcasting’s Kansas City television station, today announced the appointment of Dana McDaniel to News Director. McDaniel will oversee all aspects FOX 4 News and will report to Tracy Brogden Miller, Vice President/General Manager.

McDaniel joins WDAF from KTVU / KICU in San Francisco/Oakland where she was the Vice President of News. During her tenure she expanded news hours, coverage and social engagement. Previously she served as Vice President of News for WTTG/WDCA in Washington DC, and Vice President of News for WJBK in Detroit. In each of these markets, she managed broadcast and digital news operations to become the dominant news leader.

McDaniel’s hire marks her return to Tribune Broadcasting, as she was part of the management team that launched CLTV in 1993, Tribune’s 24-hour news channel in Chicago.

McDaniel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Madonna University in Livonia, MI.
