Colorado’s Own Channel 2 News Unique To Colorado with Kevin Torres Awarded Heartland Emmy

July 17, 2017 – KWGN, Tribune Broadcasting’s Denver CW station, won a National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ prestigious Heartland Emmy Saturday night for the Unique to Colorado segment featuring reporter Kevin Torres.

“Unique to Colorado is the only daily news segment that profiles what’s unique about our state.” said Joan Barrett, VP and General Manager of KWGN. “This is the kind of local reporting that Colorado’s Own Channel 2 News does better than anyone else.”

Kevin Torres explores the four corners of Colorado and reports on the people and places he discovers every day. Both Colorado natives and newcomers can learn something from Kevin’s reports.

“I’ve never had as much fun in my career as I’m having right now,” said KWGN reporter, Kevin Torres. “No matter where the story is in Colorado, we’ll go there to share it. We have a lot more places to go and lot more stories to tell.”

Unique to Colorado airs Weekdays on Channel 2 News at 4 & 7 pm with Mike Landess and Deborah Takahara.

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) and the Emmy Award honor outstanding achievement in the television industry. The NATAS Heartland Chapter includes television markets in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma.
