WHO-HD’s Today in Iowa, Noon and 6 PM Newscasts big November ratings winners

Channel 13 News at 10 statistically tied for #1

The November television ratings for central Iowa were just released and WHO-HD newscasts in the morning, noon and at 6 PM at were the clear winner. Channel 13 News at 10 is now statistically tied for first overall in the market with just 7-tenths of a share separating the top two stations.

The biggest WHO-HD November victory came at 6 PM with Channel 13 News nearly doubling the competition with 30.4 share compared to just 16.4 for KCCI. And while WHO-HD gained nearly 28% at 6 PM compared to last November, KCCI actually dropped 30%.  In the morning news race, Channel 13 News Today in Iowa commanded a 4.4 share point lead during the highly viewed 6 to 7 AM hour and a 1.5 share point lead during the entire two hour broadcast. And at noon, Channel 13 News earned a 2.8 share point lead marking the first win in more than 20 years during this time period.

Ratings estimates are according to Nielsen Media Research’s Nov 2015 measurement period for the Des Moines/Ames Designated Market Area (DMA).  The four week measurement period was October 29 to November 25, 2015.  Ratings estimates are for Adults 18-49 Share.  A share is the percentage of all TV households with sets in use in the Des Moines/Ames DMA (Designated Market Area) tuned to a particular program.  All ratings comparisons are on a Nov 2014 to Nov 2015 basis.
